Aluminum Production LCI in China

China is the world's largest producer and consumer of aluminum and improving the environmental performance of the processes involved is critical. However, the lack of a unit process database of the aluminum industry with localized Chinese characteristics makes it difficult to accurately assess the environmental impact of aluminum-containing products in China.

Based on the general idea of "Process Genealogy Visualization - Life Cycle Inventory Modelling - Database Presentation and Update", the project combines self-life cycle inventory modeling and literature meta-analysis to build an open source, transparent, and continuously updated unit process database for the localized aluminum industry in China.

The database developed will help academics and organizations to better assess the environmental impact of aluminum-containing products in China and around the world, providing insights for further improvements in life-cycle environmental performance.
